Devdutt Padikkal, a left-handed batter, was purchased for Rs 7.75 crore by the Rajasthan Royals team during the IPL mega auction in Bengaluru last month. After Padikkal’s outstanding performances for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the top of the order in past seasons, the price tag wasn’t surprising. Furthermore, Kumar Sangakkara, RR’s director of cricket and head coach, recently stated how much he admires Padikkal’s excellent strokes. Sangakkara praised the Indian player at a Clubhouse session on the Red Bull Cricket room.

Sangakkara stated that the batter is “accomplished” and that he “would love” to have his “leg-side play.”

Padikkal, who is regarded as one of the sport’s most exquisite left-handed strokemakers, undoubtedly garnered high acclaim.

“I’ve been watching Devdutt for the past two seasons, and he’s incredible,” he remarked.

“He’s the type of player who, as an innings progresses, boosts his scoring rate while reducing danger. Devdutt Paddikal’s leg-side play is something I’d want to have. His flips and ability to keep up with the action are incredible “Added he.

Padikkal has played 29 games in the IPL, accumulating 884 runs with a strike rate of 125.04 and an average of 31.57.
